The National Willa Cather Center was dedicated on June 3, 2017 by a visit and inspiring speech by Former First Lady Laura Bush. The Center houses the permanent Cather Museum “American Bittersweet”, Red Cloud Opera House, art gallery, and Cather Bookstore. Hours of operation and tour types and costs can be found at:

Built in 1909 as a private home, this thirty room, four story mansion now shares exhibits and displays of the  early settlers of the county:

The neo-classical style Auld Public Library  was constructed in 1917-18 and was William T. Auld’s generous donation to erect the first permanent library for our community. It was renovated in 2016 and an addition for an elevator, handicap parking and ramp included to make the library completely accessible. It now houses over 10,000 volumes, as well as DVD movies and audio books, and a computer lab. Free wireless internet is also available.                                www.redcloudlibrary.com

The Red Cloud Golf Club is located 2 miles east and ½ mile north of Red Cloud. This scenic golf course, designed by golf pro Harry Obitz, who coached Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, boasts an undulating layout, plush fairways and greens, a peaceful atmosphere, recently renovated club house, and scenic views of the Republican River Valley.
